Climate Change: The Wrong Crisis

While 2500 enviro-porn scientist in India prepare to “shock” us with proof that humans are causing global warming, the real crisis facing Canadians, and Europeans, looms even more pressingly.

Demographic decline threatens to destroy Western Liberal Democracy, yet all of Canada is hand wringing over Global Warming … or is it Climate Change … whatever, it’s basically enviro-porn.

Here’s the deal: Canada has a fertility rate of 1.6 (some have it at 1.5) . Now, stop and let that sink in. That means that Canadians are breeding at a rate that can’t sustain the current population. It means that in one generation there will be more grandparents than grandchildren. And above all, it means that in one generation those who have lived in and experienced the institutions and values of Western Liberal Democracy will be in massive decline. In other words, the cultural memory of the Canadian and European people will be almost extinct.

If you ever wanted to create a sociological and geopolitical nightmare … this is it. Any person who knows a shred about how humans develop in their value systems and psychologically, knows that you can’t turn the billions of people in the developing world into “Canadians” that fast … least of all Liberal Democracy valuing souls.

Minorities, when they arrive on our shores in small enough numbers become immersed in the Canadian Western Liberal Democratic culture… essentially, they sink or swim by our rules. If however, the immigrant becomes the majority, then there is little incentive or even capacity for him to adopt our cultural values. In the case of Islam, the European experience has been that Muslims simply are not assimilating … they are clinging to their Muslim values and creeds … and the more of them that there are in Europe, the less likely they are to adopt Western Liberal Democratic values. It’s not magic, it’s not a mystery, it’s plain good’ol human nature.

So, go ahead and moan and groan about the poor polar bears. As far as I’m concerned, about the time global warming actually begins to cause havoc (if it actually does), Canada and Europe won’t be ... Canada or Europe. They’ll simply be just another developing nation, full of the bribery, tribalism, racism, and bigotry that is 70% of the world today.

What’s most ironic about the situation is that understanding and predicting demographic collapse takes no more than basic grade 9 math. On the other hand, enviro-porn involves the use of computer models so flawed and dubious in structure that a growing number of serious scientists are beginning to question the data. One crisis is as obvious and the nose on your face, while the other is incredibly complex and dubious. Yet, what are Canadians focused on? Enviro-porn.
