Your "Progressive" Future

The New British Bulldog

"Progressives" want the keys to Canada. They are already heavily entrenched within the bureaucracy and judiciary, and of course, a majority of parliamentarians would proudly call themselves "progressives".

So, what do these look-to-the-future-never-looking-back-utopia types have in store for us. How can we foretell what Canada would look like under a purely "progressive" future.

Truthfully, we already know. All we need do is cast an eyes across the big pond and voila, there is our future ... all taking place in the UK.

Some recent "Progressive" goodies (added onto the million others the UK has on offer):

1. Muslim sex attackers could be spared a prison treatment programme because it is against their religion, it has emerged.

Rapists, paedophiles and other dangerous sex attackers are expected to discuss their crimes with others during jail sessions designed to stop them reoffending.

But Muslim inmates have complained they should not be made to undergo the Sex Offender Treatment Programme group therapy.

Now the Prison Service’s Muslim advisor, Ahtsham Ali, has said there is a “legitimate Islamic position” that criminals should not discuss their crimes with other people.

An “urgent review” has been ordered, and Muslims could be allowed to opt out of this part of the treatment — despite completing a full programme often being a condition of release.

2. THE Royal Navy, once the scourge of brigands on the high seas, has been told by the Foreign Office not to detain pirates because doing so may breach theirhuman rights.

Warships patrolling pirate-infested waters, such as those off Somalia, have been warned that there is also a risk that captured pirates could claim asylum in Britain.

3. Mark Thompson, the Director General of the BBC, tonight warned broadcasters against becoming overly-cautious in their reporting on Islam for fear of causing offence to Muslims.

Speaking at Westminster Cathedral Mr Thompson, a practising Catholic, said there was “a growing nervousness about discussion about Islam and its relationship to the traditions and values of British and Western society as a whole”.

I'm amazed that "progressives" would be fearful of offending Muslims ... amazed.

4. British police and security agencies are currently monitoring 30 terrorism plots, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said in extracts of a newspaper interviewreleased on Saturday.

"We now face a threat level that is severe. It's not getting any less, it's actuallygrowing," she said in an interview to be published in Sunday's News of the World.

"We task the police and the security agencies with protecting us ... There are 22,000 individuals they are monitoring. There are 200 networks. There are 30 active plots," she said.

"Progressive" multi-culti utopia at work by the looks of it ... pity that!

5. Suddenly there was a kerfuffle among the packed-in bodies by the doors. From the shouts, it seemed that a middle-aged white guy had stepped on a young black man’s foot. The bus stopped and as the doors opened, the young guy started punching the older man in the head. He wrestled him off the bus, kicked him to the ground and left him there. Calmly he got back on the bus.

Silence fell. My daughter looked at me anxiously. I hugged her and whispered not to worry, but when I looked up I inadvertently caught the thug’s eye. “What you f****** looking at?” he yelled. I cast my eyes down quickly, glad that there were many bodies rammed in between me and him. No one moved, said or did anything. We all tried, desperately, to mind our own business. The bus continued on. About three stops later he got off. The chatter resumed as if nothing had happened.

6.
In what seems almost to be an application of the law of unintended consequences, we learn today – from The Daily Telegraph and manyothers – that
failure to equip soldiers adequately while on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan may be in breach of their human rights.

This decision, handed down by Mr Justice Collins sitting at the High Court in London, represents "a landmark legal defeat for the Ministry of Defence" which has previously argued that the Human Rights Act does not apply to soldiers on active service outside their bases.

We've commented on this before ... that while "progressives" are all for interference in Darfur and such, they systematically starve militaries of equipment. After all, how can one sing Kumbaya while simultaneously feeding the "military industrial complex".

And there you have just a tiny sliver of what "progressives" have done to the UK. They've had the keys for quite some time now and their experiment in social engineering is just beginning to bear fruit. While the "best" of progressia (like socialized healthcare) has produced long emergency waiting lists just like in Canada, the worst has produced a country drowning under runaway Islam. The victims, as in all "progressive" utopias, are the middle class.
